Windows Update Problem

Update for Microsoft Office 2016 (KB4022193) 32-Bit Edition fails with error 0x8024002d.

I have Office 365 Click to Run installed, so this is probably why it is failing.

My problem is that the failed update sits in Windows Update. It prompts me to retry and doesn't seem to look for other updates.

This is June 2018 patch Tuesday and colleagues have received new updates which I haven't received.

I have tried Windows update troubleshooter and running DISM to no effect.

Can I delete the KB4022193 update so it doesn't interfere with Windows update.

The first step would be to try resetting Windows updates using an automatic script. See:

http://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2015/12/windows...

Make sure you run the script as an administrator.

    Hi Sumit,

The script you recommended cleaned up Windows Update and I was able to get new updates successfully.

    Thanks,

    John
