Printer Keeps Uninstalling

Hi,

We have 100+ Brother label machines (QL700/QL570) installed on as many Windows 10 x64 machines.

Every monday after the weekend, we get calls that the printer has been reset back to default settings (We change the settings to Shipping label)

It looks like this happens when the printer is turned off, when i turn it back on it sits in unidentified then looks like it re-installs the printer.

I've checked event log and i can see the event for re-installing the printer, but i cannot see anything of why it gets "uninstalled"

Can anyone think as to why this is happening every week? Or how i can find out? Is there anything i can do to stop the printer from uninstalling?

Thanks in advance

Dann

    Its ok,

I'll go into a bit more detail,

So there are lots of individual machines, each one with its own separate brother QL570 or QL700 label printer. Each machine is completely independent, and each printer is installed and used only on that one machine.

The printer is connected locally to each pc, with the latest driver from the brother website

When you are sharing USB to more than one device to a printer you can get these odd issues. Plus the printer is discontinued so can't tell you to update drivers.

Only thing I can suggest is to create a login script to add the printer.

So that way it gets added every time the user logs in.

    Sorry can't be more help.

    Is this a network printer?

If so are you using a static IP on the printer, if not do so.

Make sure to add the printer via TCP\IP.
