Sharepoint News Digest

Question

Hi,

We are working on using more the SharePoint News Digest (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/create-and-send-a-news-digest-42efc3c6-605f-4a9a-85d5-1f9ff46019bf) in my company and I'm looking for Limitation and Boundaries but cannot find it.

I'm looking at:

• Number of News elements in a digest
• Digest Header Logo
• Digest sent from email address
• Number of users/groups that can be added

In the link above it is said that I can select a group (M365 Group I suppose).
Now that I can add up-to 5000 users in a group:

• Will the news digest still work ?
• Will every user receive the digest or only the group email address ?
• How can we prevent the digest to be considered spam ?

We recommend limiting the number of pages and news items in a modern portal site to below 5,000.

Office 365 group Limit:

• Number of Groups: The limit is 500.000 Groups per tenant, even it could be possible to create more.
• Number of members: Groups with over 1,000 users are supported. Indeed current limit (not documented) is 2500 users / group.

When you have Contribute permissions in the site, you are ready to select news posts and send them. Simply click the "Send an email digest" link, and select the news posts you wish to share.

We discovered it sends the news digest to the group inbox, not the individual group members. So if you put "ABC Group Members" in the 'to' field, it will send the news digest to that inbox. You can go to your group in Outlook and update the settings so all the members receive the group emails in their personal inboxes.
