OneDrive isn't running on my PC all of a sudden. I tried typing OneDrive into search to run it and it can't find the application. I did have a problem starting up yesterday and there was a disck scan and repair. How can I get onedrive back?

    Greetings Plantman.

It seems to me like the last update downloaded the last version of OneDrive into the system but "forgot" to install it. Every attempt to run the setup (OneDriveSetup.exe file), be it from the SysWOW64 folder or downloaded from the website, gave me a message saying that a newer version was already installed and i need to first unninstall the current version in order to install it.

But the version in %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\update worked fine. Installed it and it's running perfectly, no problems with file syncs whatsowever. Just went to the folder and opened OneDriveSetup.exe.

I'll update tomorrow if the thing that happened to NealKennedy happens to me, but it makes sense to me that, in his case, he installed an older version of OneDrive and Windows Update updated it to the newer, problematic, version, thus the problem happening again.

Hope it works for you as well. Best regards.

Reinstalling onedrive from that link should allow you to use onedrive again. either that or you could do sfc/scannow from your console after hitting windows key + r and selecting cmd.exe

Tried sfc and it didn't any errors. Tried reinstalling and it says "newer version already installed uninstall first".  Well it isn't installed and I've tried a restart to no effect. So I'm doing a refresh of windows now.

You will need to do a small registry fix for this. You need to delete this entry

Windows Key+R > Type Regedit and Enter > Go to this registry entry and delete

    Localmachine > software > policies > Microsoft > Windows > OneDrive > DisableFileSync

Note - It is recommended that you create a backup of your registry before modifying so that if you commit some mistake, you will be able to restore - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/322756...
