i am using this application to move/copy files to another destination, it was working just fine until recently it started having problems, i looked into the issue to find out that the problem is the folder has Read-only attribute.

anyway i tried to remove it from the GUI, from the CMD, i tried restarting my computer in safe mode but all my effort were not successful.

so please anyone can help me with the issue??

Use command prompt and change the read only attributes from - to + and restart PC.

I have never in 20 years, not been able to copy or move files on same drive or between drives or between PC's on a shared network.

all the files in all my hard drive ( C: and D:), i'm using WampServer to upload files into the website ( so basically im copying from C:, D: to my D: partition.

i tried to change permission under the security tab: i added myself (my account user name) and gave my self full control over the folder and it didn't work.

This question comes around as reliably as the seasons in the year. Windows ignores the read-only attribute for folders. It has no effect on the files inside the folder.

    1. where are the files located.

On C:\ or another internal or external USB drive.

    1. Where are you trying to copy the files to

On C:\ or another internal or external USB drive.

In Defender you need to turn off Folder control access and restart PC

    Defender>>VT&P>>Ransonware

    Turn OFF FCA

If this does not work, then take ownership and give yourself full permissions/control of the folder the files are in.

to do this follow Step 2

Now your BIOS might have READ ONLY for USB connected devices.

Look in your BIOS and see, if so change the settings

press F10 to save and exit.
