Windows 10 - Disk using 100%

so I had an expert help me earlier on fixing a earlier issue to where my pc would freeze on startup and if I went idle from mouse and keyboard for 5-10 minutes.

The moment it got fixed, I was so happy until I ran into a newer issue right after :(

Ever since the fix of the freezing, my task manager is showing programs and services using 90-100% disk space constantly. I can’t fix it. The google searched help fixes didn’t work and 2 of the help options I didn’t do due to the fact of beinf confused but most of them are finished by my hand but nothing worked :(

I don’t know what to do and sometimes, it will go back down to 1-5% but then randomly stutter up to 100%. I can’t even pin point the thing causing it. Sometimes its programs and sometimes its system and service host and what not.

    Open File Explorer

Right click your local drive where Windows 10 is install (you will see the Windows logo on it)

    Click Properties

    Click the Hardware tab

What is the name of the drive listed?

    Is it an SSD?

If it is, you might need to update the firmware.

Open Start > Settings > Privacy > Background apps

    Disable all Background apps.

    Disabling Windows Update:

    Press Windows key + R

    Type: services.msc

    Hit Enter

    Scroll down to Windows Update

Select it then right click it

    Click Properties

Under the General tab, choose Startup type to Disabled

    Click Stop

    Click Apply then OK

Also, check whats starting up with Windows.

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Task Manager

    Click Startup tab

    Disable all except Windows Defender.

    Press Windows key + R

    Type: msconfig

    Hit Enter

    Go to the services tab

    Check the box,

    hide all Microsoft services

    Disable the remaining services

    Click Apply then OK

    Restart if prompted

    Open Start, type: problem reports

    Hit Enter

Delete any failed or pending reports.

Go to Start > Settings > System > Notifications and actions > Turn off "Show me tips about Windows."

If you have Chrome installed, uninstall then reinstall it.

    Open Start, type: CMD

    Right click CMD

    Click Run as administrator

    Type: powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

    Hit Enter

    Exit

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Power Options

    Click Additional power settings

Click Change plan settings -> change advanced power settings > processor power management -> processor idle disable -> Enable idle.

Re downloaded Google Chrome and did everything you said and I'm still at 100% disk usage in the beginning then it goes down a bit but the moment I open a program or randomly, it will spike up high again. :(

Maybe this shows the reason behind it? Shows Google Chrome (11) as if theres 11 tabs open?

Hard Drive types listed under (C:) -

    • ATAPI DVD A DH24ACSH ATA Device
    • TOSHIBA DT01ACA100 SCSI Disk Device

And it's an HDD I believe but under "type" the ATAPI says DvD/CD and as for thr TOSHIBA it says Disk Drives but I believe it's an HDD.

All the apps in privacy were already disabled from the get go.

I stopped the Windows Update Service.

I have disabled the startups that were requested.

I have disabled some of the start up services within msconfig. (Did not restart immediately, went to the next question then restarted)

The windows tips and tricks was already disabled as well.

I did the command through the CMD and nothing popped up so I exited so I assume it worked?

Click Change plan settings -> change advanced power settings > processor power management -> processor idle disable -> Enable idle.

(This I had an issue with. There was no processor idle disabled -> Enable idle)

    What I saw..

and also, if you can reply quickly as you can that will be appreciated! I get replies after 3 days of waiting :(
