Hello, can someone help me out, my After Effects keeps crashing about 30 seconds after I open up a project file.

I am using windows 10.

Two recommended options I have found in the following thread:

Reset the Adobe After Effects Preferences:

reset your preferences by deleting or renaming the preferences file that is located in the following location:

\Users[user_name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects[version]

The name of the file should Adobe After Effects 14.x Prefs.txt

or you can try running Adobe Affect Effects in compatibility mode:

Choose Windows 7 as the operating system.
