How do I stop the router from broadcasting it name?  I don't want it to be visible to others.

Won't make a difference. Anyone who wants to find out your network name can use third-party software to do that.

What really matters for your security is not the network name but the network password. If you have complex, uncrackable passwords for your network and your router's administration console, you can publish your network name in the New York Times.

I have an AARIS BWG210 from AT&T. I was able to get into settings and turn off "Home SSID enabled" but when I go to save it, it says the WPS ID setting can't be changed at the same time.

Hi y soleyndj, if that option is available for your router:

In the back or bottom of your Router is a sticker with a UserName, Password and IP address (something like 192.002.005.001) printed on it

    Note those down

Go to your PC and open a Web Browser

In the address type the IP address and hit Enter

That will bring up your routers configuration page

Somewhere on that page you will find settings - look for that option there!

Before you can change that, you will need to enter the UserName and Password you noted down from that sticker on the router

    Depends on your Router.

Login to Router's page and hide them. Here is a standard and a rough idea:

Hello, what manufacturer and model router do you have? I can locate instructions for turning off SSID broadcasting.
