"Incorrect User name or Password"

At login  I get this message.  I can manually enter my correct password and access the computer.  Apparently the incorrect password is stored internally ?

I would like to correct this so the computer  can automatically  log me in .

Or,  Change the setup so no password is needed at login.

    Hi timkieper,

    Please follow these steps:

On the search bar type "computer Management"

Expand Local Users & Groups, click on Users

Right click to your account, click on Set Password, click on Proceed

Leave the New Password in blank, just hit OK.

The next time you start the machine won't ask by password

    Regards,

    Angel.

Hello. This is the easiest way to automatically login to Windows 10 without entering the password.

Step 1: First step is to open Run command box by simultaneously pressing Windows logo and R keys (Windows+R). In the Run dialog box, type Netplwiz and then press Enter key.

Step 2: In the resulting User Accounts dialog, select your user account first and then uncheck the option labelled Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer. Click Apply button to see Automatically sign in box.

Step 3: In the Automatically sign in dialog, type your password and then re-enter the password to confirm the same.

    Finally, click OK button.

Please let me know if that works.

    Thanks for all the replies.

Working fine now, until some other random installation or Microsoft update hijacks my computer again ?

    Hi timkieper,

I am Wilfredo an Independent advisor

Just press the Start button, type the netplwiz command and press Enter.

Then a window like this will appear, in which you have to uncheck the box "Users must type their name and password to use the device", and then press OK.

Finally, it is only necessary to restart the computer, and that's it. Windows 10 will no longer ask for a password to log in when turning on the PC

However, if our account still has a password, Windows will still request it after the computer enters a suspended state. To avoid the latter, go to Settings> Accounts> Login options and check the Never option in the "Require login" section.

And even then, if our Windows account is linked to a Microsoft account, we will not be allowed to completely eliminate the use of the password (and that password will always be the same as the Microsoft account password), and therefore, it will be requested each time that we block the equipment using the keys WIN + L.

In order to use a totally password-free account, we must convert it into a local account, which can be done by going to Settings> Accounts> Your account> Logging in with a local account instead.

Once the transformation to the local account has been completed, you have to return to Settings> Accounts> Login options, click on the "Change" button, enter your current password, and when you are asked for the new password you must leave all the blank spaces.

Having done this, we will make sure that Windows does not ask us for a password to log in, even after blocking the computer.

It does not hurt to say that by not requiring a password we run the risk that anyone can use our computer and access our data, even for malicious purposes, so you have to think twice before deactivating the use of passwords to log in. .

    I hope it helps you
