    Hi,

I recommend that you do a manual update for this KB.

    1. Right click on Windows Start > Windows Powershell (Admin)

Type following (or copy and paste following) one by one and Enter

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop cryptSvc

    net stop bits

    net stop msiserver

    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

    net start wuauserv

    net start cryptSvc

    net start bits

    net start msiserver

    1. Type following in Windows Start Search box and hit Enter %systemroot%\Logs\CBS > Rename CBS.Log to something else.

If it doesn't allow you to rename - Type services in Windows Start Search box > Click Services > Scroll down to find the Windows Modules Installer service and double-click on it > Set its startup type to Manual > Reboot your computer

Go to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS > Rename CBS.Log > Reboot your computer > Then go back into the Services App and set Windows Modules Installer Service back to Automatic Startup (Note CBS log files contain information about windows update, SFC etc)

    1. You can download the updates from Microsoft Catalog and update manually. Search for relevant KB in the Catalog.

    Microsoft Catalog - https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx

Do let me know if you have any more question or require further help

You can then follow the instructions in the following article install it:

    I hope this works.

    Best Regards,

Hi Kris, that update is proving troublesome to install, installing it offline has proved to be more successful . . .

    Open the Settings App

    Go to System - About

Note down whether Windows is 32bit or 64bit

Click the link below to download the offline installer for that update from the Microsoft Catlaog, on that page from the bottom up are the x86 and x64 versions, choose the one applicable to your system, do not download the Delta version at the top.

Once that file downloads, disconnect from the Internet and turn off any 3rd party Anti-virus you may have installed, then double click the msu file to install the update

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search...

Please Note during the installation the update will probably stall at 50% or so, let the update complete, it will take time . . .

Hi. I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems, but I'm here to help.

I would start by running the Windows Update Troubleshooter, which can be found here:
