Up key stuck, not physically.

It's been happening for a while. Every time I open a menu, no matter if it's the Windows menu, or the search menu, or the options menu, my laptop will think that the up key is being pressed and it will scroll up non-stop. I'm running Windows 10 64-bit on an Asus X556UAK.

Does the problem persist with the on-screen keyboard (osk.exe)?

Yes, it does. It doesn't happen on any other application, just on menus, be it the Search menu, the Windows menu, settings menu, or any menu, for that matter. This does not occur anywhere else. Thank you for the quick reply.

This rules out the defective keyboard.

Does the problem persist while in Safe Mode? Pressing Shift+Restart lets you select Safe Mode at reboot time.
