drop down menus without a mouse

I have seen dropdown menus that requires that you click the mouse and hold, while you slide down to your selection.

But I've lost my mouse, so how do I do this on the touchscreen on my surface pro?

    Hi SusanBarutt:

    Please see the Lifewire article Make the Most of the Touchscreen on Surface or Windows 8.1 Tablet.  Tip #1 of that article to tap and hold (i.e., place your finger on the screen for a second or so; remove your finger and a right click action will be performed) might solve your problem.

    If that doesn't help, please let us know your operating system and whether you still have an original Surface Pro or purchased a newer model like a Surface Pro 3.  One of your previous posts indicated you had upgraded your Surface Pro to Win 8.1 but your question was posted in the Windows Vista board.
