File Sharing not working

Question

I have a peer to peer network, one PC is running Windows 10 Pro, the other is Windows 10 home, both are on build 1803.  I am having difficulty getting them to share files.  I have gone through and tried most of the solutions online and no success.  The PC's can "see" each other, but when I try to access the other machine, it tells me I don't have permission.  The folder i'm sharing is set to "everyone" has access, both machines are using local accounts.  Any ideas?  It worked fine before the update, and its too late to roll back.

Here is something you can try.

Addition to step 2 check settings for all networks:

 

On your computer go to folder C:\Users and right click Public

• Open Properties.
• Select Security tab and click Edit.
• On Permission dialog click Add.
• New dialog open and you can add "User" Everyone and click OK.
• When back to Permissions dialog select which rights you want to give other users.
• This same work for any folder you create and want to share your home network.

Now anyone on your home network should have access to shared folders without credentials or having user account on your computer.
