I'm getting a number of errors related to my Windows login.

  • When I use OneNote, I get a message, "OneNote needs a password to sync this notebook," and it displays a "Sign In" button. I hit the button, select to sign in with this MS account (the account with which I'm currently posting), then get a "Something went wrong. Please try again later. 0x80090016" error message. When I hit the button to "send feedback," I get another dialog box with the same error message, and again the option to send feedback, etc. etc..
  • One of my programs, Drawboard PDF, installed from the MS store, was failing to launch. I eventually tried to uninstall and reinstall it, but I when I tried to download it from the MS store, I got the same error message, "[...] 0x80090016." Again, the "send feedback" button leads to the same error.

Did you try resetting the apps in question?

I also said I'd keep working with you until the problem is resolved, so if you want to continue just complete the steps I gave and I'll give you more to try - just as I do for tens of thousands of others who all get their problem fixed if they work with me.

Hi 123. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

Are you signing into Windows 10 with a Microsoft Account that has Administrative privileges?

If not you can change it here:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5375-switch...

    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-change-user-...

If any problems arise then go into Settings > Apps > Apps & Features and choose the program, then Advanced Settings to Reset the app.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
