Changed login to M365 and now I can't access the one drive files

I updated the email address for our microsoft 365 account. I am trying to login to one drive on my computer and it will not let me use the prior email but it asks me to login with prior email. I can remove the link to this email address but I am afraid of losing my files in one drive. I tried to move docs to a zip file on my desktop, but I am getting an error message. Any recommendations?

    @Tanya Holcomb

    Based on your description, I have some questions as below.

    Are you an individual user or user in an organization?

    > I updated the email address for our microsoft 365 account

    <<What do you mean by "updated the email address"? Do you add an alias or change the email address?

    > I can remove the link to this email address

    <<Do you mean the URL in Microsoft 365 admin center? If so, please post your issue on Microsoft Answers forum with topic Microsoft 365 or Office 365 for admins as currently it is not supported on Q&A forum.

    You could provide related screenshot of the error message to better troubleshoot.

    If I have any misunderstandings or you have updates, please post back.
