I upgraded a publish site from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint 2016. There is an issue that the left navigation (via a content web part) is fine in SharePoint 2013 but did not show in SharePoint 2016? If I login to the 2016 server, it will show up. But for most users, they do not need to login so they will not see the left (current navigation). It stated in the Site Setting/Navigation: Global Navigation - The navigation items will be represented using a Managed Metadata term set. Current Navigation - The navigation items will be represented using a Managed Metadata term set. The Global Navigation (top) works fine in SharePoint 2016. However, users cannot see the Current Navigation (left panel navigation). There is no security setting in Managed Metadata Term? I am wonder if someone can help me out. Many thanks.

are there any errors in browser console log when current navigation is not shown?
also you wrote that current navigation is configured to use managed meatadata navigation. Check that specified term set for current navigation is not empty in Taxonomy Term Store.

    Hi @Er Bo Guan ,

Firstly please check whether the master page is set to seattle via go to Site Settings -> Master page and quick launch has been enabled via go to Site Settings -> Tree view.

If they are all set correctly, please create a new publish site and enable managed navigation for current navigation to verify if the same issue exists. If the new site work normally for anonymous users, your issue may be caused by upgrading.

I did select "seattle" for the master page and check "Enable Quick Launch", it is the same issue. I think it is a upgrade issue. I am load the site backup to a different web application view in more details. Thanks for your response.
