Error: Unexpected Error has occurred, close disk management and restart disk management or computer

I tried to extend my system partition C by taking some free space from partition E and giving it to C partition so I decided to shrink 50GB from but when I tried to give that space to c partition and right click on c the extend volume was not available so I try using the 50 GB to make new partition and removing  volume  in hope the extend volume will be available but won't (notice when I made a new partition there was a message appeared  saying something about dynamic partition or dynamic space, unfortunately, I didn't read it )  now when I tring to shrink some space form any partition there is a message saying " an unexpected error has occurred check the system event log for more information on the error . close the disk management console, then restart disk management or restart the computer "

    Hi Abo,

Can you please provide a screenshot of your Disc Management window, if it will stay open long enough for you to do that . . .

    Hi Abo,

The first thing I see is your Hard drive is Dynamic, it should be Basic, unless you are running multiple hard drives in a RAID formation - which I think you are not . ..

Shrinking E to add space to C will not work as Windows will not extend a partition into space that is not immediately to the right of it in Disc Management

If I were you I would download the free version of AOMEI Partition assistant and use that to shrink E and add that space to your C drive

AOMEI will be able to do that and in the process should fix any partition errors on your drive, enabling you to use Disk Management again . ..

Please note: in AOMEI, when you choose a task to be done to your hard drive, in the top left cornet of that application, you must click 'Apply' to perform that task . . .

Downlaod the Free version of AOMEI:

    thanks for replying

I really don't understand you my partition type is dynamic so is this good thing or bad thing and can I change it to basic ??!

will there any damages to my hard if I use AOMEI Partition assistant?

can you provide my youtube video how to use AOMEI Partition assistant ?

Hi Abo, your hard drive being Dynamic, is unusual, whether it is a good thing or a bad thing, that is debatable . . .

I have been thinking about your problem since . . .

In disc management, on the ,left hand side of that drive is a square box with Disc 0 written on it, right click that and choose properties

On the resulting dialog, click on the Volumes Tab, is that disc reported as MBR or GPT?
