Hi all,
I would like to take advantage of mail forwarding from a mail user. The problem is, the user already exists, so I can't create an identical mail user. Can I transform the AD user into a mail user or set the forwarding function for the AD user afterwards?

Hi @vipfafen ,
Can you create this mail user with existing user?
Or do you mean you're using the same user name with an AD user?
I think if the AD user has no Exchange attribute( not a mailbox or mail user), in this case you can create the mail user or mailbox with this existing user.

Lou

Hi @Xzsssss ,
we use Exchange online, my mask looks like this:
The option "existing user" is not available to me
if I enter the user anyway, I get the following message
"Or do you mean you're using the same user name with an AD user?"
thanks for the fast respond
we only use Exchange users
That is the problem, the user has no license, should stay that way, we practically only need an email address, in order to save licenses we decided on the mail user. Here we simply forward the Mail to an external email address.
It also works well, but I don't want to go the detour and delete the users in the AD and then have to create them again as mail users.
