SharePoint Admin role assignment

Question

Hi, I work within Customer Engineering within the Migration space and we are in the process of testing the new Migration Manager tool with a customer (Ball State University) and I received the email advising I have been assigned the SharePoint Admin role within their tenant.

But when I click on the link to View or activate role it logs me into their tenant but I am then presented with the following error: ![72458-image.png][2]

I am looking for some guidance as to what this error means and are there further configuration changes that Ball State would need to make associated my account to allow me access? Ultimately I am trying to get to the following location on SharePoint Admin on this customers tenant.

I am hoping someone can assist with some guidance on what the customer would need to do to allow me access to SharePoint Admin.

Hi @Graham Hosie ,

1.Whether your account is tenant account of that organization?

2.Please re-assign your account the SharePoint Administrator role and check.

3.If above way does not work, please try to change Eligible type to Active, then re-assign the role to compare the result.

4.If your account is tenant account, another way is assigning SharePoint Administrator role in Microsoft 365 admin center.

Here are steps:

Click Active users>Find your account and then open it via clicking Display name>Under Account menu, click Manage roles>Select SharePoint Administrator role>Wait some time to test.

Hi Li,

Sorry for the delayed response but I was able to gain access to the customers SharePoint site as they provided me with an account to use on their SharePoint Admin Centre and assigned me the SharePoint Admin role.

By logging in directly with this account I could access what I needed to within the Migration space.
