Hi! I am trying to locate all computers in our organization that have a specific software installed. E.g. let's say MS Office, but infact it's Dentrix 8.0.96 i followed these steps ( in the attachment: Monitoring->Overview=>Reporting->Software-Companies and Products-> Computers with Specific Product) , then clicked on Values and located the application (Dentrix 8.0.96). clicked on "View Report" and it's blank.. this happens with ANY applications I select. What am I missing? i am kind of new to SCCM. Thanks, ![72613-sccm1.png][1] [1]: /api/attachments/72613-sccm1.png?platform=QnA

That's because that report leverages software inventory which is actually a file inventory and by default, ConfigMgr does not collect any file information.

Generally, the best path is to use the reports that leverage Add/Remove programs -- there are multiple under the Software - Companies and Products category.

What do you mean by no go? You use the add remove programs reports correct? You started with the count report correct?

as you see, i am searching for this software Dentrix 8.0.96" and it locates only "Dentrix 8.0.5 Devices" (8.0.5 is actually an outdated version). I am not sure why it's not locating 8.0.96. Anyhow, i thought maybe some user's still have the older version installed on their machines so i thought why not search for it and see what happens for testing purposes. Clicked on View Report and it displays random programs, ( Acrobat, etc...)

Second attachment you can see what options I had for "Values" it didn't have the version i was looking for (Dentrix 8.0.96).72623-sccm2.png

So for testing purposes. i choose another report. Curious if SCCM really does query programs in add/remove from computers.
Report: Software Registered in Add Remove Programs on a specific computer. I used my computer for this and installed Dentrix 8.0.96.

and it didn't display this application "Dentrix Enterprise Client 8.0.96"

so there is something with the way SCCM reports that i need to figure out. It's definitely not applications listed in Add/Remove Programs. Not sure what it is. Would appreciate help on this.

How exactly is Dentrix installed? Is it system installed or User installed? CM will only inventory System installed SW. For user Installed SW you will need 3rd party addons.
