Secure Cloud Service (Extended Support) with VPN Gateway or ExpressRoute

Given the new Cloud Service (Extended Support) resource type requires a VNet (ARM), we can now utilise VPN Gateways and ExpressRoute to secure our client-deployable services.

What's the recommended way of achieving this? We have a POC deploying our existing app into the Extended Support model.

How are you looking to use VPN/ER gateways for this?
Is this for connectivity from your on-prem location to their VNet in Azure?
