Dear friends, I'm having problems with changing setting for Tabs display in SSMS v 18.8:

SQL Server Management Studio 15.0.18369.0
SQL Server Management Objects (SMO) 16.100.46041.41
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools 15.0.19342.0
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 10.0.18362.1
Microsoft MSXML 3.0 6.0
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319.42000
Operating System 10.0.18363

When I go to [Tools -> Options -> Text Editor -> Editor tab and Status Bar] and change the settings under "Tab text" section, nothing is changing on actual tabs. I can still see whole server with database and my login. I've tried with new tabs, also restarted SSMS and nothing. Any ideas? Thank you

I just updated options like below and without restart or anything, I just clicked on new query and I see just the file name now

Note that I downloaded the latest SSMS today. Maybe restart SSMS or machine once and try again. Also try uninstalling add ins if you have any.

SQL complete has a setting to override the SSMS settings. In SQL Complete > Options > SSMS Caption > SSMS SQL Document Tab
Either uncheck the change default option or update the template to what you want

Well it's not really working for me, SSMS and computer restarted. I have newest SSMS installed.

Maybe it's connected with addins I have installed? SSMSBoost and SQL Complete?
