Restore backup of sql database taken to azure recovery services vault to different subscription

I have registered a test server in a Recovery Service Vault and setup a SQL Database backup policy to a VM running SQL Server.

The backup is occurring as expected. Now I would like to restore the backup taken from this server and restore it to a VM running SQL Server in a different subscription. Currently I do not show a way to find the VM in the destination subscription to select as a restore location.

Is there something I have to do to allow cross subscription usage for restoring databases.

Hi BargsleyGarry-4034, thanks for the question. This service (Azure Backup) is yet to be migrated to Q&A. Please post your question directly on the MSDN forum for the service (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=windowsazureonlinebackup) We are actively working to onboard all services. We will make a public announcement once complete.

    Thank you for your patience!

FYI: Restoring backup of SQL database to a different subscription is possible with the new Restore as Files feature. You can now restore .bak files which can be copied to any location and use to restore to any VM in any subscription/region or even on-premises.
