Can anyone help. I was encrypting my external Seagate hard drive when my computer crashed. It was around 90% encrypted when it turned off and now when I plug it in it Bitlocker Encryption isn't compatible with this version of windows and E:\ directory name is invalid.

I have tried the manage-bde function to unlock the hard drive but to no avail. I have tried power shell to unlock the volume and it comes up it has to be unlocked in control panel (which cant be done) there is no option for passwords and when I tried that in manage bde it came up as invalid, also tried the chkdsk which is not compatible with Raw files.

Its almost like it has created an E drive that's empty and inaccessible but I can see the Seagate drive in device manager with the data on it.

I am a complete novice so any one that could help with step by step instruction to unlock this drive would be really appreciated.
