Hey, Any idea from where can I download the ISO for WS19 2004? I downloaded 17763.737.190906-2324.rs5_release_svc_refresh_SERVER_EVAL_x64FRE_en-us_1.iso from the Trial page but I'm not sure if that's 2004.

Hi, If you have a Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) or Visual Studio subscription, you'll find the new Windows Server build 2004 there. The Windows Server evaluation ISO is build 1809. You can also download the Windows Server insider preview builds from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewserver Also note that the Windows Server, version 2004 is not Windows Server 2019, they are different releases. Unfortunately I don't have either. :/ I am Windows Insider member but I'm looking for a stable build. I'm OK with the SAC release channel.

The Semi-Annual Channel is available to volume-licensed customers with Software Assurance, as well as via the Azure Marketplace or other cloud/hosting service providers and loyalty programs such as Visual Studio Subscriptions.

I'm reading that in order to install WSL2 I would need build 18917 is that correct? If yes, is that build available?

Build 18917 would be Windows Server, version 1903 or higher, but same here, you'll only be able to obtain these from a volume-licensed channel such as VLSC/Visual Studio Subscription with Software Assurance or the Azure Marketplace or other cloud hosting service provider.

The link you referred is different from official article released by Microsoft. Please see the capture below: (What's New in WSL 2?)

As you do not have subscription, you might can't get Windows Server 2004 ISO. But you could try to download Windows 10 ISO to check if it is Windows 10 2004 version. Microsoft will update the Windows 10 ISO to the latest, not sure if it have been done or several days later. You could try to check. It is available to use WSL 2.

Any hint where's the download link in Visual Studio? I subscribed but the only thing related to "2004" or "1809" - in Downloads - is "Windows Server, version 2004 Language Pack". Thank you!

Hi Leon,

When I sign in to our VLSC portal I see 2 options (see screenshot 1) and when i download and install the ISO updated June 2020 it is the version build number 1809 (see screenshot 2). Any thoughts on how to obtain the latest 2004 build?

You mention that one is an LTSC, so are there difference portals to get the SAC?

@Anonymous it's been a month so you might have found it already, but in case you didn't and other people land here looking for it - the SAC builds are located under the "Windows Server Standard" heading instead of "Windows Server 2019 Standard." (Because, I guess, the SAC builds of Windows Server aren't Windows Server 2019.)

Hi Leon, I have a question that might seem naive. Our company has a Visual Studio Enterprise Subscription which we keep up-to-date every year.
Is it legal to use Windows Server ISOs from the Insider Program for our Development Team?
