    It sounds like there might be group policy settings in place that are preventing automatic updates. Group policies can be quite powerful and might override individual user settings. To check and modify group policy settings:

    a. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog, then type gpedit.msc and press Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor.

    b. Navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update.

    c. Look for policies related to Windows Update and check if any policies are set to "Enabled" or "Disabled" that might affect automatic updates. Modify them accordingly.
