    Did you using SQL Server Import and Export Wizard? Please refer to Start the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard.

    Could you share us the error message that you got from the UI when importing data progress failed. Which is the data source that you want to import SQL server? Excel or data from other SQL instance?

    SSMS 18.8 is the latest version of SSMS, you can try to use it.

    Hi Cathyji-MSFT,

    In SSMS, I tried to follow the below steps,

    Right -Click on the database- Task--and click on Import Database, But there is no response showing after clicking on import database. and checked in the event logs and found the above error code. specified in my question.

    Please try to start SQL Server Import and Export Wizard from the Start menu as below screenshot.
