Gantt chart dialogue box does not open in Visio

The dialog box for Gantt Chart Options is not showing (step 3 in Set up Gantt Chart). Now what do I do? Automation events are enabled (File>Options>Advanced>General). Also, the Gantt Chart tab is not showing in the top nav bar/menu. Googled my way around, cannot find anything on the Microsoft community and microsoft support is not available (literally, you get a 404 when hitting the button to contact them). All help is very welcome! Thanks much!

    Which version of Visio are you using now?

    Please go to File > Account > Product Information > About Visio.

    I suggest go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, find the Visio, right click it, and choose Change to perform a Online Repair or Repair for Visio.

    In addintion, please go to Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office<version>\Visio Content\<Locale ID>, such as for my 64-bit Visio Plan 2 which uses English, I need to locate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\Visio Content\1033, find the Gantt templates as following image shows, open them directly to have a look.

    If it still does not work, maybe you could try to replace these Gantt templates with these templates from other normal PC.

    Thanks so much for the elaborated answer. In short: my entire laptop crashed - with the replacement laptop everything seems to be working fine. Sorry I could not check your solution and see if would have been helpful!
