As Olaf mentioned, please make sure you have uninstalled pre-release version of SSMS from “Add/Remove Programs” in the Control Panel and restart your computer before you installing SSMS 18.8.If uninstalling the pre-release version of SSMS still does not work, please try the following steps:
- Removed "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 18" folder
- Deleted registry key "HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio"(please backup registry key first)
- Restart the computer
- Temporarily disable any antivirus software and firewall
And then install SSMS 18.8 again.
