Cloud Cache - Open vDisk failed

Hi,

we have a strange problem when using CloudCache in combination with offline devices. We get a temporary profile because the merge operation of the previous merge operation failed - here is the part of the log:

Could that be the result of the used GPO concerning the naming? We have used %username% for the following settings:

"VHD name matching string"
"VHD name pattern string"
"SID directory name matching string"
"SID directory name pattern string"

Thank you for posting your query. According to your description, I would be appreciate if you could offer more information.

What is the version of your server?

Have you tried reconnecting your Disk? if not, you can refer to the following steps.
Powershell -> Hyper-V Manager -> Edit Disk

Select the AVHDX

Reconnect option is to restore the connection between the differencing disk and the parent VHD/VHDX.
Choose the parent VHDX file and put a check box in ‘Ignore ID mismatch’

Hi,

thanks for the responsse. We aren't using Hyper-V Manager. We are using notebooks with cloud cache with one location pointing to the local drive and one location to a SMB share on a server.

Could that situation exist because the 2nd cloud location is using the disk. Strange is, that the disks are mounted on the second location - directly on the server. Is that a normal behavoir? Attached is a screenshot.

We have no straight forward instruction. We set the group policies like in the attached screenshot. For our notebooks we would like to work offline and sync the profile for backup purpose the a server via smb.

any hints on that case? Why are the images mounted on the 2nd cloud cache location direct?
