I want to make sure deleted Windows 10 profile with OneDrive will not delete my OneDrive contents

I restored a Dell Latitude E7270 purchased in 2016 to factory image a few days ago using the Dell restore tool. Before that I was able to use Windows Remote Desktop from another computer at my home to log on to an account on the laptop that was created when I imaged the laptop in 2016 when I was an IT tech and the laptop was joined to the domain, example, "mydomain\username". After the restore installed Windows 10 Pro I used my Microsoft account to log on to the laptop during Windows setup. Since I have a subscription to Microsoft 365, the Windows setup connected to my personal OneDrive account and I can see my OneDrive content in the OneDrive folder. But because the hard drive on the laptop is only 256GB and I have about 700GB in my OneDrive account, all the files are online only, except one file, which I opened and so it got downloaded.
Since the restore, when I try to use Remote Desktop to log on to the account on the laptop it fails. I have an active question at the MS DOCS forum for that.

I am posting here because we have tried a lot of things to fix the RDP issue and the expert is now telling me to delete the profile for the account on the laptop as it is probably corrupt. They said the next time I log on the profile will be recreated, including my OneDrive folder. But my concern is, if I delete the profile, called donan, which will delete c:\users\donan, will OneDrive think I want to delete the entire contents of my OneDrive folder also? The other computer at my home does have the entire contents, or most of them, stored locally in the OneDrive folder. I am not totally sure because I think a while back I told OneDrive to save some space by storing some files only online.

Thanks,
Don
