MS Edge, often not responding

I am using Microsoft Edge on my Windows 10 Home computer with 8 GB RAM. What I am experiencing is that Edge often stops responding for 5 up to 20 seconds. This particularly happens with websites that load new content when scrolling down, i.e. Twitter. Clearing the cache helps, but not for long.

Is this a known issue?

Make sure you are running the latest version of Microsoft Edge.
    Try update your Windows.

    Reset Edge:

Right-click on the Start button in the lower-left corner and select “Apps and Features“.
Scroll through the list until you find “Microsoft Edge”, click it, and then click on the “Advanced options” link.
Next, click on the “Reset” button.
