Hello, as you can read from the title, I cannot use Windows Defender. I disabled it in the past for the use of some musical programs for the university that couldn't run if it was on. I think that over time this has been the cause of the presence of many viruses inside my PC. In fact, now it's not only the defender who doesn't work I also can't go on with updates and I should; they say that I have to do important updates for security and quality

    @Adriano Allegri
    Hi,
    Do you have another antivirus installed? If so uninstall it in Settings > Apps & Features. Restart PC and try Defender again.
    The System File Checker tool repairs corruption in system files. Use this tool to verify whether Windows Defender is corrupted or not. To perform an SFC scan, do the following:
    -Press Windows Key + X to open Win + X menu. Now select Command Prompt (Admin) or PowerShell (Admin) from the menu.
    -Type the command sfc /scannow > hit ENTER > wait for the scan to complete.
    If SFC can’t fix the problem, you might want to try using a DISM scan instead. To do that, just follow these steps:
    -Start Command Prompt as administrator.
    -When Command Prompt opens, enter DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press Enter to run the command.
    Hope above information can help you.
