Connect project tasks to a folder netwok

Hey guys, essentially I try to connect Word or Excel files in folders to MS Project. I thought about having those files set up in a folder network. There is a folder and file for each task in Projects and when somebody changes something in the file, it automatically updates in the Projects file. Is that possible? And should the file be rather in Word or Excel then? Or are there any other recommendations on how to do this, like a sharepoint and when somebody changes something it automatically changes the MS Project file and maybe marks changes, tasks overlapping or overdue deadlines etc. Thanks!
