Controller recognized but not working.

When I plug up my DualShock 4 controllers to my pc via USB it shows them in my device settings as a working controller but no other games or applications will even acknowledge that it's plugged in. The controllers work on any other device just not my pc. The last thing I used my controller for before this was for ACO using the project stream thing.

Before now all the programs and games I played using this controller worked fine and I hadn't edited my laptop since then so it's not that the controller is not supported but rather there is something stopping it from even being seen by other programs. for example, the emulator dolphin that usually shows all inputs of any kind connected to the pc doesn't even show the controller as an input.

Actually, if I connect the controller via blue tooth I can control the windows settings menu... but it still doesn't work with anything else

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Since the device is designed to work with PlayStation4, you’ll need to install additional third party software to get it working on your computer.

For more information, please get in touch with the device manufacturer.

    Hope it helps

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delayed response.

As mentioned earlier, the controller will work with Windows, but will need some tool to

emulate DS4 as an Xbox controller, which PC games readily support.

If you are already using any emulator, I would suggest to uninstall and reinstall it.

    Hope it helps.
