Windows Update 1706

My PC just auto-updated to build number 1706, and with it, my taskbar is essentially broken.

My start button, and my Action Center button no longer work, and I am forced to use right-click context menus.

Strangest of all is that not all of the taskbar seems to be broken. My pinned programs run just fine, and I am able to use the start/AC buttons right at start up, but it seems after a certain instance into boot-up, they no longer work.

Any help to remedy this problem is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Try updating to 1803 using Media Creation tool and see if that helps.

The fastest way to get the upgrade is through Media creation tool or ISO file.

Please download Media Creation Tool from the link below and select Upgrade this PC at the first screen.

    Hi LoneRoninX

Build 1706 is still an old build, you should go straight to version 1803 to bring your system up to date and make all previous updates obsolete . . .

With these major upgrades, the most successful method is to upgrade from the Windows 10 ISO - you download the ISO and then perform an Offline Upgrade

    Click this link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), then choose ISO

When the ISO file completes downloading

Then, double click it and then run Setup.exe to begin the upgrade . . .
