When I try to create a pin to sign into my computer, it always comes up with this message. What do I need to do?

Windows for home | Windows 10 | Windows Hello, lock screen and sign-in

There is a screenshot attached. Please load the file to see the error I am getting. If it isn't loading, basically it says "Windows Security," "We couldn't sign you in," my name, my email, and "The request is not supported. Thank you! --GraceT33

Hi Grace. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

If you cannot Add or Remove the PIN in Settings > Accounts > Sign in Options even after a restart, then unhide Hidden Files in File Explorer > View tab > Options > Folder and Search Options > View tab > tick box to Show hidden Files.

    Browse to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC

Delete or rename to NGC.old this folder to reset the PIN.

You may need to first take ownership of the folder: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3841-add-ta...

Once you delete or rename the folder it will recreate it so you can add a PIN normally in Sign-In Options. You may need to restart the PC first.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
