how do i fix a system error "The code execution cannot proceed because profapi.dll was not found."

    Hi Laura, follow these steps to perform a full repair of your Office installation . . .

    Open Control Panel - Programs and Features

    Click Microsoft Office in the list of installed applications

    At the top, click 'Change'

    On the resulting dialog, click 'Repair' - choose the Online Repair, it is a comprehensive fix

    That should fix any issues with your Office Installation . . .

    This comes up when I first log into Windows: It prevents me from being able to use my MS Word and Excel etc programs...

    That error refers to the user profile service in Windows 10, where exactly are you seeing this error and what are you doing when this pops up?

    If possible, please provide a screenshot or photo of the error you are seeing . . .
