    Hi MShomeuser, thanks for your question. I'm Graeme, a Microsoft Community expert and fellow user.

    To activate Windows, you'll just need to click Start, type "activate" and select the first option. It should open a window with prompts you can follow to activate Windows.

    If you're having trouble activating, you could try the Windows Activation Troubleshooter. You can find it here:

    What is the current OS on your computer? Is it Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Home Single?

    Do you want to convert from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 Home Single?

    If you have Home license but are now running pro then the only way to return to Home is to clean install that version.

    Please explain this in more detail. If you are running Windows 10 Pro, how did that happen, did you upgrade to Windows 10 Pro and if so, do you have a licence key for Pro?

    If you did update to the Pro version, you have two choices, purchase an upgrade licence (approx. $99) or backup your data and clean install Windows 10 Home SL, which will then automatically activate . .

    Either you can run Windows 10 Home Single language or use Pro. Which one is currently installed and what you need to do?
