So I was running the Check disk for my external hard drive and this is where it is at and eventually stopped at for the last hour or so. I'm worried that if I try to stop it now my data may be a lost cause forever. It's been along while since the last itime I even used the hard drive (6 plus months) so I didn't notice anything wrong with it. Is it even possible to get my data off of it now?

It eventually stopped but not because it finished. It just became unrecognizable by my computer.

Your post is a little repetitive. Why include hundreds of the same error lines?

If Windows still runs then you can do what you should have done every week: Back up your data to an external backup medium. You then need to replace the disk.

If it no longer runs then you need to ask a computer-savvy friend to help you save your files after booting the machine into Windows Repair Mode.

Ah, I apologize about that. I just copied and paste.

And I realize I didn't specify, but it is actually my external hard drive. Not my pc's hard drive.

Also, after about 20 minutes after I posted it just stopped working. It told me that my hard drive wasn't recognized any more.

    I'll try that. thanks
