My computer automatically updated a couple of days ago.  However, my program files are not in my C drive?  How can I locate them?

    Hi Dave and Fernando,

I finally decided to call Microsoft Support, because the problem was more complex than I could handle.   Paul assisted me in finding my lost personal files in C drive.  He set up an F drive and congregated my personal files on that drive.  I also was able to get the Windows software back.  He also uninstalled over 20 programs that he said were messing up my computer, especially the MacAfee and Norton softwares, which he said were incompatible with Windows 10.  I previously did not have problems with them until the last Windows update, 4 days ago.

Thank you very much for your assistance, Len

    Hi Len

Do you mean some software you had installed on your PC is now missing, has the software icons on the desktop disappeared?

Click your Start Button, then just type the name of one of the programs that disappeared, does it appear in the resulting list?

If software is now missing from your PC, can you still find your personal files?

Please list the software has disappeared from your PC

    Hi LenYoerger

My name is Fernando. I am an Independent Advisor. I am here to guide you with the issues after your update.

One option you have is to revert to a previous build. I would recommend reset Windows 10 keeping your files and apps . . .

    To do this

    1. Start your PC as Windows attempts to load and the spinning dots appear, press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds. This is known as a Hard Shut Down

    (Do this twice )

    1. Turn on your computer for the 3rd time and it should come up in the Recovery Environment
    2. You will be prompted for System Repair/Safe Mode/Command Prompt
    3. Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Revert to previous build of Windows
    4. If this is unsuccessful, go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Reset this PC

Choose to keep your files and apps,

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask me any questions and let me know how it goes.

    Respectfully,

    Fernando Y.
