When looking in Device Manager, its says for the

    "Generic PnP Monitor"

    That the "Device not migrated"

    And when checking the "

    Event Viewer"

it gives a Warning and says:

"Device DISPLAY\MEI9001\4&352f9aba&1&UID266500 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

    Last Device Instance Id: DISPLAY\DEL4014\4&352f9aba&0&UID200195

    Class Guid: {4d36e96e-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

    Location Path:

    Migration Rank: 0xF000FFFF0000F102

    Present: false

    Status: 0xC0000719"

    How do I fix this?

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply and sorry for my late return.

    1, I have tried both extended/duplicated - no difference

    2, Displayport

I have tried the suggestions in your link,

.....different monitors/cables/adapters etc  still no success

    second screen says: No signal

my surface says: Didn´t detect another display, and shows 1I2 - symbol, not two different screens

But when I connect second monitor in displayport, my surface makes a sound "ding/dong"

and if I connect a TV it seems to connect to audio!?

    Best/Sus

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your concern on Microsoft Answer Community.

As you have already did some troubleshooting steps to fix this issue, but to have a better clarity on this issue , we need few information.

    1. How you are projecting the second monitor from the surface, whether it’s extended/duplicated?
    2. How the physical hard connection made, USB-C, HDMI, or DisplayPort?

Meanwhile we want you to refer Trouble connecting Surface to a second screen article, which might help you to resolve the issue.

    We await your response.
