Cant not Find script file "setup.js"

Question

Windows script file "setup.js" is missing.  A message pops up everytime.. :/

In regards to your concern, kindly help me with following questions:

1. When do you particularly get that above error message?
2. Are you aware of any changes that happened on the computer?

Some updates or software installation could cause this error. Setup.js is a java script which could have got installed with some installation of software. Let’s narrow down the issue by performing few troubleshooting steps and check which particular software or program is causing the error.

Step 1: Clean boot.

A clean boot starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your program.  For more information, check How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Your computer may temporarily lose some functionality while in a clean boot environment, however, that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after you have finished your troubleshooting.

Step 2: Safe mode.

Step 3: Run Microsoft safety scan.

Microsoft Safety Scanner is a scan tool designed to find and remove malware from Windows computers.
