microsoft basic display driver

Hi,

 I have dell N1050 Laptop. For some reason I cannot use intel graphics driver and can only use Microsoft basic display driver. I went to repair shop to fix this. they say its hardware and can't be fixed without changing motherboard. I can't spend that much right now. I can't watch 1080p video on it and many other things pls tell me how can i continue to watch hd 1080 and 4k videos on Microsoft basic display adapter driver.I  tried every online solution but nothing worked.

    i try to force the Windows 8 video driver from the Microsoft Catalog to install but it did not worked now i am going to install windows 8.1 to check if this works . i made a mistake in my laptops model name its Dell N5010

    detail system configration is below pls tell me if i can do anything else other than installing windows 8.1

    Hi Sunil yes, that model has the exact same graphics, going back to Windows 8.1 may be the best thing to do . . .

    Hi Sunil

    The repair shop is probably looking to make money from you. Intel HD Graphics are not on the Motherboard, they are built into your Intel Processor . . .

    Your Laptop is only supported by Dell up to Windows 7, the Intel driver required is Intel GMA, which is very old . ..

    You can try to force the Windows 8 video driver from the Microsoft Catalog to install and see if that works on your laptop

    Otherwise, honestly reverting to an earlier version of Windows (8 or 7) would be the only fix . . .

    Have you tried the Intel driver updater to see if it will find a better driver?
