There is a new update for Mail and Calendar app which fixes the problem, check the store for updates.
contacts+message backup
The app stopped working on my Windows 10 mobile last week. When I click on it under "settings", it appeared to open and then closed again ; I have windows mobile version 10.0.14393.2551 ; the Outlook Calendar and the Outlook Mail also behaves the same way last week, it opened and then closed again ; I deleted one of my Microsoft account last week, most of my contacts disappeared ; I re-create another Microsoft account with the same email address and a day later, the contacts re-appeared ; but the above mentioned three apps do not work since then. Is there anything I can do to make them work again ? Thanks. (I scanned the web for an answer already but nothing seems to work ...)

Initially I went to the Store and tried to update the software but it said the software has been installed and even if I 'check for updates', it came back saying it's the current version.
Then later (I don't exactly remember the steps leading to what happened ...), my laptop (also running Win 10) displayed a notification from "Windows Store Apps" with the message "Reset temporary Internet files location to default" (I probably go to Store from my laptop and tried to download Mail and Calendar ..). I reset it and also I go to "Settings" "Apps & features", scroll down to Mail and Calendar, click on it, then click the "Advanced options" and then go down the screen to "Reset" option, and click the Reset button.
Then I go back to my Windows Phone, find "Mail ad Calendar" again, and this time there is the "Install" button ; click on it and it installs the software, and thereafter the Outlook Mail and Outlook Calendar works again, the old data are there too, nothing lost.
That's the story.
Thanks again.
