DevTest Labs - Limit Disk Size

We're trialing DevTest Labs for use by our development and QA teams and want to limit costs as much as possible.

Although you can set quotas for the number of VM's, VM sizes etc. I can't see any option to limit the size of disks. When creating a lab VM, the user is not given the option of selecting a disk size, and all VM's are created with a 127GB disk by default.

Are Lab VM's disks free or priced differently? Is there a way to limit users to a smaller disk size?

@Matt Ryan The VM disk size is limited by the image the VM is created from. Most images have a default OS drive of 127GB. If you wish to decrease this you would need to use or create a new image with a smaller OS disk. You might find this Stack Overflow thread helpful in reducing the disk size.

You will be billed for the storage used by the OS disk. Please check the FAQ here for more questions on pricing.

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have further questions or issues.
