I have been using Ubuntu in windows dual boot mode.

Had a USB windows backup drive. Wanted to reinstall windows 10. So booted from USB device in UEFI. On the troubleshoot screen, when tried to recover windows from USB drive, it showed an error saying 'System driver cannot be found'. So I tried the option saying 'Recover system using image' and messed things up. Now I get this screen. I can boot into UEFI mode but not into the Troubkeshoot screen anymore. Please help.   [Dell Inspiron 7560]

Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are unable to reinstall Windows 10 on your PC. Let us try few troubleshooting methods to fix this issue and then try to reinstall Windows 10 on your PC.

Method 1: Create a new bootable media for Windows 10 to download the latest version of Windows 10. Refer the following link under the section ‘Using the tool to create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) to install Windows 10 on a different PC for steps to create installation media.

Method 2: Rebuilt BCD from Command Prompt using the bootable media.

1.    Insert the bootable media and restart your PC.

2.    Press on any key to proceed.

3.    Select a language and click on ‘Next’.

4.    Click on ‘Repair your computer’ option.

5.    Click the operating system that you want to repair and then click ‘Next’.

6. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced****options > Command Prompt.

7.    Type BOOTREC /FIXMBR, and then press ENTER.

8.    Type BOOTREC /FIXBOOT, and then press ENTER.

9.    Type BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD, and then press ENTER.

10.   Restart your PC.

After performing Method 2 you can reinstall Windows 10 on your PC using the bootable media that you have created. You can refer the following video link for steps to**reinstall Windows 10** on your PC.

Hope it helps.
