Hi Gary, my name is Max and I'm an independent advisor.

I suppose this issue is due to malware, out-dated or corrupted system files. I recommend that you follow the methods below one by one and check if it helps.

Search for the latest Windows 10 updates.

Go to the Start, Settings, Update & Security, Windows Update, select Check for updates.

Please refer to this article for further information: Windows Update: FAQ. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12373/...

Next option is to refer to this article to run Microsoft Safety Scanner

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/securi...

Next option is to try running SFC /scannow to repair system files.

Check if the system files are corrupted by running System File Checker in Windows 10 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/402652...

If you can log into Windows:

To repair Windows without losing any data then you can try an in place upgrade repair:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repai...

This will also upgrade you to the latest version of Windows - currently 1809.

    Hi Gary

My name is Sarah Kong and I am an independent adviser that is here to try and help you with your issue.

Could be something corrupt with the O\S

You can try a couple things.

Right click your start button and select Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.

In Command prompt type sfc /scannow and press enter.

    Restart the computer.

If that doesn't work then try this,

Right click your start button and select Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.

In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands.

Press Enter key after each command:

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Important: When you run this command, DISM uses Windows Update to provide the files that are required to fix corruptions.

To close the Administrator: Command prompt window, type Exit, and then press Enter.

    Restart your computer.
