Problem with Network Sharing

I don't know what happened but my home network is not working for file sharing. I can describe what's happening below

W7 > W7 > W10 .....  error message 0x80070035 network path not found ......  W10 not listed in Network tab of W7 machine

W7 > Vista  ..... OK

W10 > Vista ..... OK

W10 > W7  .... error message 0x80070035 network path not found

Vista > Vista > W10 ..... OK

Vista > W7  ..... no error message #  \\hostname is not accessible  ... the handle is invalid

I found a place on the web where I could add gpedit to W10 and W7 (home) so I could change "LM compatibility level" ....  to

Send LM & LTM - use NLTMv2 session security if negotiated ...... (what ever that is) . Some web research led me to believe that would help.

It seems obvious the Windows 7 machines are the problem since they won't even share with each other. All these computers also boot

various flavors of Linux but for now I would be happy to get the W7 file sharing working. I also tried just turning off all the firewalls in every

Windows machine, to no avail.

I'm sure the W7 machine file sharing was working before whatever just happened. Whatever software components W7 needs to file share

would be a good place to start. Anybody know where to go from here? File sharing/home network shouldn't be that hard

    I think I'm onto something here........ [kb4487345]

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4487345/update-for-windows-7-sp1-and-windows-server-2008-r2

then go to  microsoft update catalog ....... download the update appropriate to your operating system. In my

case it was    x64 based systems ..... install > reboot and viola file sharing works. W10, W7, Vista. Later I will see

if Linux can share as before.

P.S. I do not use homegroup, workgroup instead, Linux doesn't like them.

{cue maniacal laugh} .......... Bwahahahaha .......   ****  MICROSOFT stop breaking my home network, it took the better part

of 2 days to fix this.

I have the same problem for a few days on a remote network that worked great, I think that no longer sharing after doing one of the latest updates. On network resources you see the remote pc but if you ping it from the message error message 0x80070035 network path not found. Help me I tried them all without success, it must be a serious system problem related to the installation of updates

Lots of stuff in event log ... I have no idea what I'm looking at

Yes the network is private. I can ping everything from everywhere. (not tried today but I am 100% sure it would work)

    W10 is Windows 10

AMD-... (AMD-FX4350), home (homebuilt), HP-la (HP-laptop) are all Windows 7

Dell (Dell), fran (Frankensein) are Windows Vista

    route..  is my ASUS router

W55..   I think is my Roku box

    C8-3A-6B-1C-C6       I don't know but it's always been there

I pasted in result of    softperfect network scanner but I don't know if it went through

Check event viewer and look for relevant log files there.

Are you able to ping those PCs?

Check and see whether networks are private or public, make sure they are all private.
