Notepad Japanese Input Problem - Microsoft IME

Hello! I am currently experiencing a problem regarding the input of Japanese/East Asian script into notepad. I have tried searching online for a solution, but the things that I found did not fix the issue. I initially thought it might be because of my system's language, however, I also have tried switching between languages to see if it solved the problem, but it was to no avail.

This is what happens when I input Japanese text into notepad using Microsoft IME:

Please, I would appreciate if someone could direct me to a solution or provide me one! Any help is welcome.

    There was tech support spam posted to this thread. Do not call that 8 8 8 number or go to the webpage. They do not belong to Microsoft.
